Коммутаторы SCALANCE X-300EEC позволяют создавать высокопроизводительные коммутируемые сети, как на полевом уровне, так и на уровне управления, обеспечивают поддержку функций резервирования и широкого набора диагностических функций. Все коммутаторы имеют степень защиты IP30 и ориентированы на установку в шкафы управления.
Основными областями применения коммутаторов являются высокопроизводительные производственные сети, имеющие интерфейс для подключения к корпоративной сети. Высокая стойкость к электромагнитным воздействиям позволяет использовать коммутаторы SCALANCE X-300EEC на низковольтных и высоковольтных подстанциях. Компактный корпус позволяет экономить монтажные объемы (19"/2) и устанавливать коммутаторы в шкафы управления. Специально подобранный состав электронных компонентов обеспечивает сохранение работоспособности коммутаторов в широком диапазоне рабочих температур (-40 ... +70 °C, временно до +85 °C). Все версии коммутаторов имеют исполнения со специальным покрытием печатных плат, обеспечивающих надежную защиту от грязи.

Коммутаторы Industrial Ethernet серии SCALANCE X-300EEC выпускаются в прочных металлических корпусах, монтируемых на стандартную профильную шину DIN. Компактные размеры корпусов (19"/2 - внутренние размеры) позволяют монтировать в 19" стойке управления два прибора вплотную друг к другу.

При появлении ошибок в работе сети коммутатор SCALANCE X-300EEC способен выполнять немедленную отправку сообщений об ошибках (traps) в систему управления сетью или отправлять заранее подготовленные сообщения по каналам электронной почты.
Дистанционный мониторинг (RMON):
Коммутатор SCALANCE X-300EEC способен накапливать статистическую информацию, отвечающую требованиям RMON, группы 1 ... 4. Эта информация включает, например, статистические данные об ошибках в работе каждого коммуникационного порта. Через систему Web управления эти данные могут считываться и передаваться в системы статистической обработки.
