Client/server architecture

Up to 16 clients can be connected to an X-Tools server. If required, the server can also be operated without a client, e.g. for data recording. The creation of a single-user system as a combined client/server application does not require time-consuming installation. The access to data can be controlled user-specific by means of access privileges, and configured customer-specific.

Interfaces

X-Tools records data on SIMATIC S7, SIMATIC TDC and SIMOTION via software input nodes and hardware input nodes for analog and binary signals.

Integration is easy into a maintenance infrastructure with SIMATIC Maintenance Station, into networks, as well as into SCADA applications.

Interfaces

X-Tools permits data acquisition on SIMATIC S7, SIMATIC TDC and SIMOTION. The acquisition of numeric bus data from PROFIBUS DP is also possible reaction-free without additional bus configuration operations. Diagnostics results and analytical data can be sent by means of TCP/IP coupling of X-Tools to a controller, for example.

Starting of X-Tools using a command line permits easy integration of plant monitoring into SCADA applications.

The automatic sending of e-mails provides real-time notification in the event of a damage event.

Analysis and data processing

By means of X-Tools V 03, analysis models and analysis scripts can be applied to either online or offline data. Analysis scripts can be processed equidistant, event-driven, or sequentially.

Functions for data reduction are available for data recording. For example, a recording in the ring buffer may only take place when a measured value changes. Partial or compressed loading and saving of measured data in/from files is possible for faster processing.

Visualization

The visualization function supports several time axes and thus the joint representation of several time scales in one display. The monitoring view allows the combination of spectrum, histogram and time representation in an overview.

Display attributes such as color and line type can be flexibly preconfigured and improve the clarity of the application.
